Porcelain Veneers, Teeth Whitening, and More

No matter whether you are coming to Dr. Maureen Toal for a simple cleaning or a full mouth restoration, she will make sure that you are comfortable every step of the way by answering your questions and providing you with all the necessary information. If you are a candidate for sedation dentistry, you can have all of your procedures done in just one or two relaxing office visits.

Restorative Dentistry

Dental Restorations

The most conservative approach to restorative dentistry would be restorations. These are porcelain tooth-colored "fillings" which are indicated when there is more than 50 percent of the natural tooth structure remaining to hold the filling material in place.

Crown & Bridge Prosthesis

Bridge splint prostheses can also be an indication where there is significant bone loss to weaken the stability of the natural remaining teeth. Therefore, crowns would be placed on the indicated teeth standing together but they would be internally splinted to increase stability, function, and balance the occlusion (bite) of the needed areas.

If you are missing one or more teeth, a fixed bridge can help restore both function and appearance to your smile. The bridge consists of three parts: an artificial tooth (or group of teeth); and a crown on either side of the artificial tooth/teeth. Dr. Toal attaches the bridge by cementing the crowns to your natural, existing teeth on either side of the gap. Each tooth and crown in the bridge is expertly color-matched so that they blend right in. They are cemented & non-removable. No one knows you have crowns or spaces because they look so natural.

If you think you might benefit from this method of tooth replacement, contact the Center for Dental Rehabilitation today. Dr. Toal and her friendly staff will help you to regain the smile you’ve been missing.

Endodontics

The field of endodontics deals with the health of the nerve inside the tooth's root. If the nerve becomes infected, you may possibly experience a great deal of pain. The best way to alleviate this pain and restore health to the affected tooth is for Dr. Toal to perform a root canal.

Thanks to improved technology and the availability of sedation dentistry, root canal therapy can be completely painless. They no longer deserve the long-held reputation of causing extreme discomfort. After you are sufficiently anesthetized, Dr. Toal will create an opening in the crown, or top, of your tooth. Through this opening, she will remove the diseased pulp, thoroughly clean out the area, and fill the canal with material to seal the canal. After the opening is closed up with tooth-colored material, the pain associated with the infection will completely disappear. There is a very positive result allowing the patient to function with their own teeth, injection free.

Don’t live with a painful toothache for another day! Contact the Center for Dental Rehabilitation today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Toal.

Extractions

Extractions are sometimes an unpleasant reality in dentistry. Dr. Toal will do everything possible to save a natural tooth. However, if this is not possible, she will discuss your options with you regarding both sedation dentistry and tooth replacement.

Dental Hygiene

Of course, the best way to avoid lengthy dental procedures is to come in to our office for regular dental checkups. The appointment will consist of a regular check-up, x-rays, and a dental cleaning to decrease future occurrences of oral and dental disease so your teeth can remain healthy and beautiful.

Dr. Toal understands that even though regular checkups may be routine, they may still be a cause of major anxiety for patients with dental phobia. During your consultation with Dr. Toal, you can talk to her about the different kinds of sedation dentistry available; you can be comfortable during your treatment and refreshed when you leave.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can transform chipped or crooked teeth into a million-dollar smile. They are custom-crafted from very thin sheets of durable, natural-looking porcelain. After taking a mold of your existing teeth, Dr. Toal will send your measurements and her specifications to the lab so they can create your veneers. When they are ready, you will return to the office so they can be permanently bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. You’ll never be afraid to smile again!

Teeth Whitening

Years of tea, coffee, cola, and tobacco use can often dull the color of your teeth. If you’d like a brilliant, whiter smile than ever before, schedule a consultation with Dr. Toal at the Center for Dental Rehabilitation. Dr. Toal offers in-office whitening for those who would like whiter teeth in about an hour, as well as at-home whitening kits for patients who would prefer to undergo treatment in the comfort of their homes. Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is an excellent method of reducing the width of a gap between two teeth or improving the appearance of teeth that are chipped or discolored. Unlike porcelain veneers, which are created in a lab, dental bonding is achieved by painting a liquid resin material directly onto the surface of the teeth being treated. Dr. Toal then gives the resin the desired contour and polishes the surface so the tooth resembles those around it. Because dental bonding can be completed in only one office visit, many of our patients choose to have this treatment combined with other dental procedures while they are sedated.
