Welcome to Center For Dental Rehabilitation. Our dentist, Dr. Maureen Toal, specializes in sedation dentistry, allowing anxious and medically compromised patients to achieve the beautiful, healthy smiles they have always dreamt of.

Have you been putting off dental care for years because of anxiety or fear? Do you make and then cancel dental appointments because you just cannot bring yourself to come into the office? Are you simply interested in completing several procedures at the same time, without the hassle of multiple appointments?

If you are one of the millions of Americans who suffer from dental pain and avoid dental care due to anxiety, then you need our services. Our team will patiently work with you and discuss your treatment alternatives.

Center For Dental Rehabilitation offers a surgical facility for patients who may benefit from a general anesthetic or IV conscious sedative for their dental needs. In a private, relaxing setting, patients are treated with care, honesty, and professionalism. We are happy to offer general anesthesia, which usually puts a patient to sleep. Regardless of your needs, our team can make your dental experience with us as comfortable as possible.

Basic Sedation

Basic sedation are the methods commonly found in a general dental practice. Typically patients with mild levels of anxiety will be advised one, or a combination of the following methods. The point is to induce a mild calming and local anesthetic effect that allows us to complete simple procedures.

  • Oral sedative pre-medication
  • Nitrous oxide
  • Local anesthetic

IV Sedation

The patient receives a sedative drug through a vein. It goes to work quickly however, you are still awake and able to respond to commands. A patient may choose intravenous anesthesia for simple procedures depending on their level of anxiety. Most people having their wisdom teeth removed or having a dental implant placed will choose intravenous anesthesia. Others may opt for IV Sedation for simple procedures because they do not want to remember the procedure.

General Anesthesia

With this option we contract an MD Anesthesiologist to assist Dr. Toal in putting the patient fully asleep. Patients love this because they are fully unconscious and have zero discomfort. This allows us to operate very efficiently, allowing us to complete an entire treatment plan in 1-2 sittings. The ability to use GA sedation enables us to treat a patient population that previously had no other choice for dental work.
