Basic sedation are the methods commonly found in a general dental practice. Typically patients with mild levels of anxiety will be advised one, or a combination of the following methods. The point is to induce a mild calming and local anesthetic effect that allows us to complete simple procedures.
- Oral sedative
- Nitrous oxide
- Local Anesthesia — the elimination of sensation, especially pain, in one specific part of the body
by the topical application or regional injection of a drug.
